Ben Cohen on his hearing loss

“Audacious is doing an amazing job and I’m glad that they’re going to try to make everyone’s life a little bit easier so we can talk on the phone.”

Former Northampton Saints player and England rugby star Ben Cohen MBE opens up about his career and his hearing loss.

Ben revealed how he found out he was clinically deaf towards the end of his career. With only 46% of his hearing as well as tinnitus. He never thought that his hearing wasn’t normal and had hearing loss for most of his life.

His hearing loss affected his career at points, as he wasn’t able to hear his teammates on the pitch. He learnt to lip read as well as making sure to face people to understand them. Which can be a struggle when running about a rugby pitch.

He is now backing Audacious Mobile, which allows people suffering from hearing loss to have clearer conversations on the phone.

“Audacious is doing an amazing job and I’m glad that they’re going to try to make everyone’s life a little bit easier so we can talk on the phone.”
